2008 Resolution

Dear Friends,

i miss every one of you, i hope you are all studying hard, and for those who finished, working hard to achieve their dreams, and having fun too.
7 Days and 2007 will leave, and 2008 will come, it is the yearly time for evaluation, for refreshing and for asking ourselves some questions, and have a resolution for the coming year.

at the end of 2007, what type are you ??

Stuck – Stargazer – Victim – or Success

and which one of them you want to be one year from now ?

by the end of 2008 do you want to say that ??

I’m Stuck
Foiled and fumbled, I’ve come to a screeching halt
My spirit is broken and reserves drained empty
I need to know what happened and assign due fault
I am trying to move but the guilt and excuses are weighty
So much goes on inside the mind stopped
Stories, replays, and why rationalizations
Progress held up and dreams overshadowed
By parasitic and carnivorous preconceived notions
Being stuck saps the soul of optimism and drive
Quicksand dense and stronger by the day
Living pushed aside by a need to survive
My goals and intentions have lost their way


or that ?

I’m a Stargazer
One day I’ll create a grand and elegant solution
Heralded, admired, and subject to benchmark
Pride will gush for being a catalyst to revolution
Success will flow like water and shine from dark
Tomorrow will be great I can feel it in my bones
Inspiration will pour into new plans of progress
Just need to discover and define the unknowns
Research options and queries listed to address
Premature launches discredit the value of sound timing
Patience and preparation consume and keep me hopeful
Like a stargazer I keep looking, seeking, staring
The sights and skies inspiring and wonderful

I’m a Victim
I can’t try any harder; I’m stressed and weary
At each turn another hurdle, failure or setback
How much will it take, I’m getting grouchy
I’ve made the effort, now I want a payback
So many avenues have been exhausted
Really, I am not a lazy or uncaring person
I’ve taken advice and remained open minded
These poor results are not supposed to happen!
Why has life chosen to be so cruel?
Why do I deserve this unfair treatment?
Why is this path so long and painful?
Why is success so elusive and distant?

definitely everyone of us want to say that :

I’m a Success
Spent, invigorated, victorious
I’ve made it to my mountain peak
The right map offered precise focus
Got there with perseverance and technique
The satisfaction of going all the way
Is large and grand like Everest
Mini miracles, hard work, some play
Success on purpose and by design is the best!
I knew what I wanted
I knew the best pathway
I did what I needed
I hit a grand slam, hooray!

i am sure everyone of us want to say that, and now it is the time to have the resolution you and i want for the new year
but is it enough to have the resolution only ?
answer is No, you need to focus and take actions
Focus occurs when a resolution is well defined and targeted on solving important problems (not symptoms) or seizing exciting opportunities. The desired outcome is clear, challenging, but attainable and Actions are selected based on how well they support the goal and the tendency to get sidetracked is rejected.

Focus

These steps might help you :1. Embrace the opportunity to change your life.
2. New Year’s Resolutions can be fun – let yours kickstart your year.
3. Select a resolution that you find exciting and meaningful.
4. Share your resolution with everyone!
5. Create a plan for success.
6. Get into action.
7. Adjust the plan as needed.
8. Stay in action.
9. Celebrate your successes!

i have been going some blogs and found this resolution for a blogger

1. Not to use any software after the evaluation period is over
2. Learn something new
3. Give something back to the this wonderful community

so lets write ours :)

i have found a great book also, called Make 2008 Great
and it is like a tool to help you evaluate the last year, and decide what you want to achieve the next year.

What Keeps you !!!!!!

i had this question in my head since yesterday,

What keeps you from having a better life, making use of every single second in your life ?

all of us has dreams, but we keep dreaming, and few of us who wake up and go for their dreams.

imagine this scenario with me,

what if you visit a doctor, and he tells you this “you have a serious disease, and i am afraid you have only 6 months to live, you gotta sort your things out cause there is no way you will live more than 6 months…”

will you live the next 6 months of your life as you would’ve lived them if you were not dieing at the end of them….

of course no, you will make use of every single second of it,

so the question is, why you dont do this now, why you dont add quality years to your life, instead of dreaming to have them.

i say you have to take the action, every one of us has to wake up and go for his dream.

Eid Mubarak

Well, it is a month full of events, Eid Adha, Christmas, New year, first term exams, and all coming together,

so Happy Eid and Happy New Year for all of you folks :)

and as usual, i spent the day at home, didn’t hang out at all, and had my enough share of meat ;) , but i had to prepare it myself, everybody was out since the morning.

so all of you, don’t eat a lot of meat, just be fair with yourself ;)

yesterday i took a step that i am really proud of,

i had this idea of a project long time ago, that i want to make, it is really useful for every single one of us, but never took the step to even start; but yesterday i did it, i started putting this into action, designed the map, the framework, the database and the procedure i will follow. and i did a pretty good job that i am happy with so far.

i am gonna post updates about the project, but i will not launch it until it is 100% ready and tested.

Arabic Movies Overload

Tooooooooooooo much arabic movies,

today i was driving my car from to giza, and along the way, a lot of advertisements for arabic movies,

where did all these movies come from, and are we really that rich to spend millions on cinema movies while most of the egyptian citizens didnt have meat for months; and the funny thing is that the same citizens that in deep need for money, is the same that goes to cinemas and making those fake actors millionaires, may be they just go to watch something that make them forget this life..

everything is expensive, and we are making millionaires out of fake people that immitate anything that moves.

are we that blind !!!!!!

anyway i hope we awake and know how to use our resources better than this,

12 Hours on MatLab

Hey,

have been working on matlab for 12 hours, was a nice good painful a little experience :D , now i hardly see.

it is my first time to use this program, i installed version 7.1 and worked on solving 2 Sheets of modeling and simulation which contained 9 problems, devieded into a lot of points ;)

they said that matlab is heavy program, but i didn’t feel that, i had it on a windows installed on virtual machine with parallels, on Mac OS on my MacBook pro, and it ran very fast.

now that i am done, i really liked matlab, looks like it works as a very professiona calculator, and does a lot of stuff.

Zend Neon – PHP IDE

Hi,

recently i noticed that zend released a new IDE, it is Zend Neon which actually is built on eClipse.

i tried it, it is very fast, not heavy, and have a lot of options, it really rocks.

C/C++ Editors under Mac OS

hola,

i had a problem writing C/C++ code on my new macbook, after some googling, i found some editors that allow me to do that

the first one is the XCode which comes with the original DVD of Mac Os, also can be downloaded from http://developer.apple.com/tools/xcode/

the second one which is netbeans 6, and can be downloaded from http://www.netbeans.org

and the third one is EClipse, and you can get it from http://www.eclipse.org

the last 2 programs above is open source, and they can run on any OS not limited to MAC only and they have a lot of cool plugins.

if anyone of you guys know other programs to code C and C++ under MAC, kindly post it in the comments.
